Eraserheads Reunion Concert Album In under three weeks time, the official live album of the Eraserheads Reunion Concert will finally be released. If this Philmusic article is to be believed, this will be the first of quite a few Eraserhead items to come. Along with the live album, there's also a live DVD and a concert film to be shown in theaters prior to the former's release. Then, of course, there's the highly-anticipated box set of their entire discography and plus plus. With all these rumors of stuff rolling in, I'm thinking that the eyes of die-hard eHead fans are bugging out as they salivate and worry over all the items.

As for me, well, I'm considering buying the box set whenever it comes out. Although I have completed all of their albums through alternative means, it's still different from actually buying their stuff. Aside from the fact that you're supporting the artists and all that jazz, there's also this inexplicable feeling that comes from actually owning it. The best I can do is compare it to the difference between having an actual print copy of your favorite book versus having an ebook version. No matter how many times you've read the digital version or a friend's copy, having your own is still quite different.

On the other hand, unless the DVD has some incredibly memorable, "aww, they're back to being really good friends la di da" type of footage, I don't think I'll be one of the people lining up when it hit the stores. As much as I'd love to have such a memento, I also keep on zeroing in on the probable last three zeros of the price tags. Pun intended, naturally. Those zeros would end up staring back at me once I check my credit balance if ever I do buy that stuff. Kawawa naman ako nun.

But that's not much of a loss for the Eraserheads anyway. To quote the Philmusic article, (as the Reunion Concert showed,) anything associated with this well-loved but defunct band will practically sell itself with very little marketing push needed. Given the fans' demand and the time the powers that be have (to promote), it's safe to say that one less buyer won't hurt them.
